Find out what happens to Allison, Samir, Richard, Tina, and the rest of the Evol house gang in a monster of a book longer than anything we've ever done. That means time is running out to get all the extras we've made to celebrate the book's release. Jesse and I will be doing readings from the new book, sketching in and signing, discussing the project, and hanging out with folks. I haven't done events in stores like this since I was sixteen. I am so excited. Come by, hear stories, and talk comics. ## 🖼 new print ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/9c/0c/9c0c3ed1-6073-42fe-82e4-7701884d4597/content/images/2022/08/2m-incredibledoom_color_13x19_fullbleed-2.png) by Mattmatthew If you were logging into BBSes in the early days of connected computers, like the characters in [Incredible Doom](http://incredibledoom.com/?ref=matthewbogart.net), you probably knew about ANSI art. Internet speeds at the time were usually too slow to download even a *tiny* image file quickly. So artists would create different shapes using *text characters* like the ones below. ![a screen shot of several alpha neumeric charecters](https://storage.ghost.io/c/9c/0c/9c0c3ed1-6073-42fe-82e4-7701884d4597/content/images/2022/08/CleanShot-2022-08-25-at-09.17.42@2x-1.png) Sort of like ASCII art, but constructed from a larger set of 256 letters, numbers, and symbols, "ANSI art" became *huge* in the early days of the net, [with different crews of artists even battling each other](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oQrBbm5ZMlo&ref=matthewbogart.net) for bragging rights. Amazingly, it's still a vibrant scene today, practiced by some *fantastic* artists like [Mattmatthew](http://blocktronics.org/tag/mattmatthew/?ref=matthewbogart.net), who did this gorgeous *Incredible Doom* [print we released this week](https://buyolympia.com/Item/mattmathew-incredible-doom-ansi-print?ref=matthewbogart.net). I can't believe how stunning it is. Printed by the fantastic [BuyOlympia](https://buyolympia.com/?ref=matthewbogart.net) here in Portland, Oregon, the print uses an 11-color high-definition ink process on an enhanced matte paper.
