# Collaborating on comics for 6+ Years

Navigating a creative partnership can be one of the trickiest parts of a project. I'm happy to say that Jesse and my six-year collaboration has been one of the most fulfilling experiences of my comics career.

It covers everything from how we structured our legal relationship to the writing techniques we use.

Back in 2016, I was spending time, after my day job, at a co-working space called [XOXO Outpost](https://outpostpdx.com/?ref=matthewbogart.net). Listening to all the creative professionals there talking about their day, I realized that, although the work they were doing daily sounded *tough,* none of it was work I was *incapable* of. 

That realization is one of the big inspirations for trying something as ambitious as *Incredible Doom*.
